Weekly Update and Progress Report
Week: 8, 2nd March to 6th March 2009
Programme:
Identification of wet spots at the lower end of the site. Flagging from the top of the site down in the central area. Prepping of lower end of site up to sub-base level. No delay to programme.
Work Activity:
Mon
Excavation continued from last week of the tree pit areas. The location of services including the gas main and water main resulted in the pit locations being set back further from the ACO channel than on the design drawings.
Flagging commenced of the 300 x 150mm flags which are specified for the road design from the new kerb line at the junction of Station Road and Abergele Road.
Tues
Excavation of the bottom end of the site between both fence lines from mid way along the Litten Tree to the mid point of the Imperial Public House re-commenced. Another wet spot, due to the waterlogged (Gleyed) clay, located approx 10 from the Eateasy Restaurant. Said area excavated and Terram and Geogrid layers laid with the excavation backfilled with capping stone.
Wed
Prepped area from Tuesday had Terram and Geo-grid layers laid and part of area stoned with sub-base.
Thurs
ACO Channel from mid point of the Litten Tree to mid-point of the Imperial Public House set out and trench excavated.
Fri
ACO Channel laid in trenches excavated on Thursday.
Areas of flagging at the top of the site grouted up with flowable product.
Next Weeks Programme:
Flagging of the area between the drainage channels from the new kerb line at the top of the site. Once this area is flagged and grouted, pedestrians will be allowed over that area and the excavations outside the shops and premises will commence.
Setting out and excavation for the rising bollards and associated apparatus.
Laying of HDM layer in the area that has been stoned up at the bottom of the site (Princes Drive end).
