Weekly Update and Progress Report
Week: 5, 9th February to 13th February 2009
Programme:
Excavation and sub-base laying to central area, laying of Geotextile and Geo-grid support system and laying of HDM road base in central area. No delay to programme.
Work Activity:
Mon
The sub-base level of construction was laid from the top of the job in the central area and trimmed back to the correct level and rolled.
Tues
Continued laying of the sub-base layer and trimming back. The fence line was pushed out towards the properties and a 2-3m pedestrian route around the site was created. Excavation then began on the space between the new ACO channel and the fence line from parallel with Boots upwards.
Wed
Continued excavation between the ACO channel and the fence line. 2 power cables were revealed in the excavation. One of them being only at 150mm cover depth which meant it was classed as hazardous. The Statutory Authority were requested to attend site in order to provide advice on the safety of the cables.
Thurs
The electrical contractors attended site at 09.00hrs and rendered the cable located at a high cover depth safe. Excavation was begun on the area between the ACO channel and the fence line parallel to W H Smiths.
Fri
The HDM road base was laid in the central area from parallel with Peacocks down to the Litten Tree. Continued excavation of both sides from the ACO channel to the fence line.
Next Weeks Programme:
Excavation for the new kerb line at the junction of Station Rd and Abergele Rd. continued excavation and sub-base drop between the ACO channel and fence line.
