Weekly Update and Progress Report
Week: 9, 9th March to 14th March 2009
Programme:
Flagging of the area between the drainage channels from the new kerb line at the top of the site.
Setting out and excavation for the rising bollards and associated apparatus.
Laying of HDM layer in the area that has been stoned up at the bottom of the site (Princes Drive end).
No delay to programme.
Work Activity:
Mon
Further excavation and trimming of the formation layer at the bottom (Eateasy Restaurant end) of the site as per last week.
Flagging re-commenced at the top of the site (Central Public House end).
Tues
Continued excavation and trimming at lower end of site and flagging at top end.
Wed
Continued flagging at top of site with flagging from previous day grouted.
The tree pit root system was delivered to site and their construction begun within the excavations for the tree pits.
Thurs
The HDM contractor attended site in the morning and laid the HDM layer from midpoint of the Litten Tree to midpoint of Boots in the central area of the site.
Continued flagging at the top of the site.
Fri
A further soft spot was excavated at the lower end of the site and re-instated as per the others.
Sat
A large soft spot in the site entrance at the lower end of the site was excavated and re-instated. During the excavation a redundant gas pipe was located and removed. The clay surrounding the pipe had become gleyed.
Next Week’s Programme:
Completions of ACO drain construction. Final excavation to formation level at the lower end of the site with associated build up to HDM finished level in the central area.
Construction of the rising bollard casings and associated apparatus.
Continued flagging from the top down.
Excavations commenced on the exterior of properties
