Sea View Road Week 22

8th October 2009

Weekly Report - Week 22

Week Ending 13th June 2008

Activities have been mostly concentrated at the junction between Sea View Road and Bay View Road this week. The amount of flagging undertaken was considerably reduced due to a problem acquiring the bedding material for the flags. The contractor ran out and the supplier was unable to deliver during the week. This created an obvious issue for the flaggers in that they had no material with which to lay the flags upon.

The red brick wall that occurs at the end of the new planter was re-constructed due to damaged bricks in order to prevent it reducing the visual impact from the new works. The damage had occurred prior to the project commencing.

The positioning of the drop kerbs on Bay View Road and their associated drop kerbs on Sea View Road had to be altered from the original design as they posed a hazard in the original design format. It was further agreed with the contractor to alter the positioning of the bicycle racks as the design position would have required coring into the Bay View Centres concrete foundation. This is not recommended and as such the racks have been brought forward and placed just in front of the joint between the foundation and the hard road base.

The contractor commenced work on raising the gulley’s for the properties.

The planter had its first deposit of topsoil and the tree pits were filled with stone as per the specification.

The positioning of the bollards at both Ivy Street/Sea View Road and Bay View Road/ Sea View Road were agreed and excavation for said commenced.
