Greenfield Road Week 4
8th October 2009
Senior Engineer's Update (Conwy County Borough Council)
Colwyn Bay Streetscape Improvements – Greenfield Road Week 4 – Phase 1, 2 & 4 Works - Week beginning 5th October 2007
Phase 1 - The main stonewall is near completion, the two flanking walls at the boundaries of CG car park are currently in progress.
The only area left to pave on this phase is that immediately in front of the stonewall; once stone work is finished paving can start here.
Two of the three vehicle access points (CG Bay View Road and no.19) have been completed, the third will be ready for use by Monday (CG Greenfield Road).
One crossing point has been completed on the Greenfield Road/CG side of Phase 1.
Phase 2 - The main body of paving has been laid along Bay View Road, along with edging setts and new granite kerbs along the length of the scheme.
The pedestrian refuge has been excavated and the new kerb edging/outline has been laid ready for infill and paving next week.
One crossing point has been installed on Phase 2.
Phase 4 - Excavation has started this week on Phase 4 at the upper end of the scheme- near the Mobility and Bed shop.
The existing kerb line and areas of the footway have now been removed; the new granite kerb line has been installed as far down as the access to Greenfield Garage.
The contractor advises that he is approximately one and a half weeks behind schedule at this point
