What an 11 months it’s been for everyone connected with Colwyn Bay & the Bay Life initiative.November 2008 saw the announcement from the Welsh Assembly that Colwyn Bay, along with Rhyl, was to be designated as the North Wales Coastal Strategic Regeneration Area. Then in 2009 came the announcement that, as part of a £38million bid across North Wales, Colwyn Bay is to benefit from £11.3million of European Funding.

Streetscape Phase 1
Colwyn Bay Town Centre Improvement scheme Phase 1 is now complete giving Colwyn Bay a whole new look. The enhancement work has included new paving, trees, planters and street furniture with Greenfield Road also seeing new pavements and crossing points. A new raising bollard system has been installed on Station Road and is now fully operational.

2009 Britain In Bloom Success for Colwyn Bay
Colwyn Bay has been awarded silver gilt and runner up position in the Coastal section (over 12k population) of the Britain in Bloom competition.
This highly contested national award follows the town’s eighth consecutive win in the Wales in Bloom competition.
