Communities First
Colwyn Bay has now been designated a Communities First area. It covers parts of the Glyn ward and part of the Rhiw ward from Eirias Park to the West End of town. Communities First is a Welsh Assembly Government programme to help those areas experiencing the most disadvantage. The aim is to work with local people to enable them to play an active part in their community.
A partnership will be set up to develop a plan for the way forward locally.

Streetscape
Two stages of the Colwyn Bay Town Centre refurbishment scheme Phase 1 is now complete giving Colwyn Bay a fresh new look. The enhancement work around the Greenfield Road Roundabout and Sea View Road has included new paving, trees, planting beds and street furniture with Greenfield Road also seeing new pavements and crossing points. The third stage of Streetscape works is due to commence in January 2009 when the enhancements will continue onto Station Road. This new scheme will join with Sea View Road giving the Town Centre a whole new feel.

General market as usual on Saturday. This will be the last French Market before Christmas.
